Fighting Agenda 21

WILLIAMSON COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

RESOLUTION

In Opposition to

“Agenda 21” in Its Various Forms and Under Its Various Covers

W I T N E S S E T H

WHEREAS, a comprehensive plan alleged to improve the world community in the 21st Century was launched in 1992 at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which such plan was nebulously named Agenda 21; and

WHEREAS, Agenda 21 is, in fact, an insidious strategy of environmental totalitarianism and social engineering designed to achieve “one world order” under the authority of an unelected global bureaucracy; and

WHEREAS, among other things, Agenda 21 is hostile to America’s founding and animating principles, including, without limitation, national sovereignty, private property rights, private development, single family dwellings, free markets, and free use and development of resources; and

WHEREAS, Agenda 21 advocates for redistribution of wealth; and

WHEREAS, the proponents of Agenda 21 have initiated, trained, inspired, and provided cover and sanction to numerous organizations, bodies, and similar innocuous sounding plans throughout the world (and including the United States of America) which, while not always ostensibly identifiable, do in fact serve the common purposes of Agenda 21 and its proponents; and

WHEREAS, the term Agenda 21 shall therefore be individually and collectively deemed to refer to all such bodies, actions, and plans that exhibit or are motivated by a design to impose environmental totalitarianism and social engineering with the goal of achieving “one world order” under the authority of an unelected global bureaucracy; and

WHEREAS,  Agenda 21 is and has been overtly and covertly thrust upon and weaved throughout many states and local communities in the United States of America through various extra-Constitutional bodies, including, without limitation, the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), as well as through local “sustainable development” policies euphemistically designated as Smart Growth, Wildlands Projects, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, and other utopian-sounding missions superficially offered to advance the “common good.”

THEREFORE, Agenda 21 is, on its face, a violation of the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Tennessee, and it is a threat to our national sovereignty and to the individual liberties of all American citizens, including the citizens of the State of Tennessee and Williamson County.

ACCORDINGLY, IT IS HEREBY:

RESOLVED, that the Williamson County Republican Party opposes and rejects Agenda 21; and therefore be it further

RESOLVED, that this Resolution be distributed as broadly as possible to the federal, state, county, and local elected officials having offices, residences, or constituencies in Williamson County, Tennessee, as well as to all local media outlets, with a copy to the Tennessee Republican Party, for the purpose of providing notice of the position of the Williamson County Republican Party with regard to Agenda 21; and therefore be it further

RESOLVED, that the members of the Executive Committee of this Body use their best efforts to inform and advise the membership of this Party and the aforementioned elected officials and media of and about Agenda 21, its consequences for liberty and the American order, and the position of the Williamson County Republican Party with respect thereto; and be it therefore further

RESOLVED, that the members of the Executive Committee of this Body and the membership of this Party urge (and remain vigilant in so urging) the federal, state, county, and local elected officials having offices, residences, or constituencies in Williamson County, Tennessee, to refrain from sponsoring, adopting, or implementing, directly or indirectly, any bills, laws, rules, policies, or plans in the nature thereof which further the goals of Agenda 21.
